Q1 How do you maintain a balance between work and personal life?
Achieving balance is something many of us strive for, but recently I heard someone say, “There is no real balance” — and I agree. Some days, work demands more of our attention; other days, our personal lives take priority. The key is to be intentional about investing in both areas. Focus on growing in your career while also nurturing your personal well-being. Be present for the moments that matter most to you and your loved ones. Make time to rest and recharge. When you prioritize self-care, you show up as the best version of yourself.
Q2 What qualities do you think make a great leader, especially for women in business?
Great leadership begins with the ability to listen and a willingness to learn. A strong leader sets the standard by modeling the behaviors they expect from their team. They are both empathetic and courageous, able to approach difficult conversations with honesty and respect.
An effective leader also knows how to encourage and mentor their team with patience and genuine commitment. Without these qualities, a leader risks becoming just a boss. Employees want a leader who inspires them, supports their development and helps them move forward with purpose.
Q3 Who has been a mentor or role model in your career, and how have they influenced you?
I’m incredibly grateful for a group of men and women who worked alongside me at the first bank where I began my journey. I spent almost 20 years there, and it remains one of the most impactful experiences of my career.
They saw potential in me that I couldn’t yet see in myself. They encouraged me, guided me and weren’t afraid to have honest, sometimes difficult conversations. They listened patiently, answered countless questions, and were consistently real with me. I saw their flaws — not hidden but shared — as a reminder that perfection isn’t the goal, and that mistakes are essential to growth. I feel truly fortunate to have had their support. I wouldn’t be where I am today without each one of them.
