When deciding on a career path, I knew I wanted to help people. Little did I know that fulfillment would come from banking.
Starting my career in 2002 at a community bank in Warsaw, Indiana, my first three years were devoted to opening new accounts for customers. I knew nothing about banking back then, but quickly fell in love with it and found myself hungry to learn more. In time, I was helping individuals with new tasks daily; from opening a deposit account, securing a loan and referring small businesses, to giving recommendations for a CPA, attorney, doctor, vet, dentist or realtor.
That’s why seven years ago, after being inspired by other women in the industry, I knew I wanted to reach the C-Suite level at a community bank. I was confident that if I could get to that level I would establish strong, lasting effects with my clients, team and the bank alike. The heart of an organization is always the people who choose to work there and give it their all. When I was approached by GreenWay Bank in 2023 and asked to assist in building products and solutions for our small business customers, I enthusiastically accepted.
With this new opportunity, my focus was on assisting small businesses with finding solutions to meet their particular financial needs. Not only are they the foundation of our neighborhoods, but they also strengthen our community — and when a business and its community are strong, the bank is strong.
Now, as I look back at my 23 years in the banking industry, it’s easy to see I would not be where I am without those who believed in me. Not only are my client’s my top priority, so are the teams I work with. The only way to grow, develop and become the best version of oneself is through mentoring, opportunity and encouragement. As a leader at GreenWay Bank, I strive to acknowledge the value our team members bring to the bank and our clients, while helping them grow in their own careers. The banking arena rapidly became the best profession to use my drive to connect with others and promote the community I love, and I’m thrilled to give back in every way I can.

GreenWay Bank has been serving customers since 1889, but it has only been since 2023 that we expanded into Fort Wayne — and let me say, it has been nothing short of sensational. I’m excited to see how GreenWay Bank, our clients and the community will grow in the future!
