On Sept. 11, Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana held its Tribute Dinner at the Mirro Event and Conference Center. This year’s event shined a spotlight on caregivers and the monumental role they play in their loved one’s cancer journey. Dr. Mike Stone, who lost his son at the age of 18 to a rare cancer called rhabdomyosarcoma, reflected on the kind ways that anyone can support a caregiver they know. Elizabeth Henry, who was the caregiver for her parents Mayor Tom and Cindy Henry, shared the joys and challenges of caregiving, and how the community support behind her parents felt like they had everyone fighting alongside them. Tribute Dinner raised $71,815 to support Cancer Services’ mission to support local people with cancer.
