The remarkable leadership team of Jae Gerardot and Jennifer Lapsley at Summit City Nursing & Rehabilitation has led to an impressive array of achievements. Serving as Executive Director and Director of Nursing, respectively, Gerardot and Lapsley have effectively led their teams to a level of excellence not usually seen in their industry. Their leadership has resulted in two consecutive years of five-star ratings, and has now resulted in a third consecutive year of a perfect, deficiency-free rating from the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH).
Operated by American Senior Communities (ASC), Summit City offers a variety of care options including short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, respite, hospice care and advanced pulmonary and ventilator care.
In his fifth year of leadership at Summit City, Gerardot brings optimism, strong communication and an effective team approach to Lapsley’s thorough attention to detail, extensive clinical knowledge and knack for developing her team.
The Five Star Quality Rating System was created by the U.S. government to help consumers evaluate and compare nursing homes. Only a small percentage of nursing homes achieve a five-star rating, which is what makes Summit City stand out in the very competitive senior care market.
A perfect, deficiency-free rating from the ISDH is the highest rating a senior care community can receive, and is based on compliance with state standards of care like adequacy of staffing, quality of care and cleanliness.
“We are incredibly proud of our team for demonstrating our company’s rigorous standards of care in an exceptional way,” says ASC CEO Steve Van Camp. “Excellence of this level is only possible when a team is highly aligned in their compassion, level of dedication and commitment.”
