Two Fort Wayne, Indiana companies now play a role in serving thousands of sandwiches at Subway® Restaurants on U.S. Army and Air Force bases around the world.
The Asher Agency (www.asheragency.com) a full-service marketing, advertising and public relations firm, is now designing and coordinating marketing materials for Subway® Restaurants located at United States military bases in Japan, Korea, Germany, and a growing number of bases elsewhere around the globe.
Window displays, menu board updates and other marketing elements designed by Asher Agency are printed in Fort Wayne by Prentice Products (www.prenticeproducts.com), then shipped globally. The trip from printing press to even the most distant restaurant takes a maximum of five days.
“We already manage marketing for nearly 2,000 Subway® Restaurants in 23 markets here on the mainland, but it’s pretty exciting to know men and women in uniform around the world are seeing our work,” says Tom Borne, Asher Agency president.
Asher art directors recently created a “Welcome Aboard” campaign for Subway® Restaurants on U.S. Navy bases in Japan. The promotion is geared toward new recruits thousands of miles from home, who might take comfort from a familiar hometown favorite.
“Even in foreign countries, Subway® works hard to keep the same items on the menu as here at home,” explains Jeanne Jackson, Subway account supervisor. “That means the work we do for the overseas restaurants is quite similar, and because the restaurants are all on U.S. bases there is no need to translate menus into German, Korean, or languages native to remote South Pacific islands.”
