Artek Inc. Investing in a Second Location

Company plans to add an additional 2,600 square feet to new facility

Artek, Inc. has purchased a new facility on 6707 Gabion Way. In the next year, the company plans to invest $400,000 on property improvements and manufacturing, distribution and technology equipment. Artek will be eligible for a 10-year abatement of both real and personal property taxes with an estimated savings of $45,567. Artek will retain its current location at 3311 Enterprise Road and add a new one. The company will also expand its new location by 2,600 square feet to enclose a loading dock and add two new docks.

Artek is the leading producer in Duravar-Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene plastics. These plastics accommodate many industries such as agricultural, bottling and canning, food processing, farm implement, transportation and others. Artek works closely with each customer/industry to design and produce high-performance solutions that meet or exceed industrial requirements.

“We continue to offer the best customer service and highest quality UHMW-PE products in the industry. As the economy grows we need to position ourselves to meet the increasing demand from our valued customers,” says Tim Dammeyer, president of Artek. “The additional capacity of this expansion project will ensure our ability to accomplish this goal.”

Mayor Tom Henry salutes Artek’s success and its continuing investment in our community and says, “We’re working every day to make Fort Wayne the best place to start and grow a business. This latest expansion signals the strength of this thriving company, and sends another positive signal about Fort Wayne’s competitive business climate.”
