It’s Not About the Bowling

Big Brothers Big Sisters would like to invite you to Start Something with Bowl For Kids’ Sake.  Bowl For Kids’ Sake will take place in Allen County at Thunder Bowl #1 in Fort Wayne on Saturday, March 17 at 4:30 PM; Sunday, March 18 at 4:30 PM; Thursday, March 22 at 6:00 PM; Thursday, March 29 at 6:00 PM and Saturday, March 31 at 4:30 PM. Big Brothers Big Sisters is looking for people to form a team of five friends, co-workers, or family members who want to help raise funds to support our programs. Each team member is encouraged to raise $100 or more in pledges for Big Brothers Big Sisters and then invited to celebrate making a difference with bowling, food and prizes! Please contact Big Brothers Big Sisters at (260) 456-1600 or www.bbbsnei.org for more information or to register a team. Your participation in this event will help to ensure that local children will be matched with a caring adult mentor to make a BIG difference in their life. 

In honor of our 40th anniversary in 2012, our goal is to serve 1972 children in our local communities and improve the futures of each child, classroom, school, neighborhood and community. Our agency is growing at a remarkable rate, serving more children every year. 

“Currently there are over 600 children waiting for a Big Brother or Big Sister of their own,” shares Shelley Schwab, Director of Development. “Our goal is to raise $200,000 and recruit 200 mentors to match 200 through Bowl For Kids’ Sake.” 

For the upcoming Bowl For Kids’ Sake event, Big Brothers Big Sisters is excited about the awesome incentive.  Everything  from iPod Shuffles to iPads are on the list of great prizes that participants can earn through their pledges. But that’s not all! One lucky winner will receive the Grand Prize Package – a LED-LCD flatscreen television with Blu-ray player!
