Celebrating... On Oct. 7, Mike’s Carwash will hold its 4th annual Wash for a Cause fundraiser, benefiting the YMCA Youth Service Bureau of Fort Wayne. Half of the proceeds from every Ultimate Wash sold during the one-day event will go to the Youth Service Bureau to support YSB’s work changing the lives of area youth. Since 1982, the Youth Service Bureau has provided support for troubled youth and their families. Through advocacy, it gives at-risk adolescents the tools, skills and support they need to succeed and grow into thriving adults and community members.
Organization History… Founded by Joe and Ed Dahm in 1948, Mike’s Carwash was the first automated carwash in Indiana. Mike’s has since grown to a total of 21 locations in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky – with plans to continue to expand in current and new markets. While Mike’s is not a huge company, it donates and gives back at a huge level. Since 2014, Mike’s has donated over $23,000 to the Youth Service Bureau.
Mike’s Carwash strives to create lifetime customers by delivering a clean, fast, friendly experience through engaged and valued team members. The carwash sets expectations high, aiming to be the service industry leader by embracing innovation and providing opportunities for team members to reach their full potential.
Founder Joe Dahm often reminds Mike’s team members that, “We’re really in the people business. We just happen to wash cars.”
