As the world evolves, and technology plays a larger role in our lives, Fort Wayne International Airport wants to make sure that you are making the most of your travels through the airport. Making use of technology throughout your travels can make every step of your trip easier and more efficient. Here are a few tips and tricks to keep technology at your fingertips, and your head in the clouds.

Use Airline Apps

Every airline that operates out of FWA has a mobile application to make your travels as easy as possible. Taking advantage of these apps can take away many of the headaches associated with airport travel. Notices of delays and cancellations can be sent directly to your mobile device, and any changes in your itinerary are easily accessible. You can check-in for your flight 24-hours in advance, meaning you can be checked in and armed with your boarding pass before hopping in the car and heading for the airport! Going through the TSA checkpoint is also easy with mobile check-in — all you have to do is show your mobile boarding pass and the TSA agent will scan it from your phone. Allegiant, American, Delta and United all have apps available for download on your device.

Be Social

Many airports and airlines are active on social media oulets, including FWA and all of our airlines. FWA is active on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, allowing passengers and the community to stay up-to-date on what is happening at the airport. The airport often posts updates on major flight delays, airport amenities, new air service and much more.

You can find FWA at Fort Wayne International Airport on Facebook, and @flyfwa on both Twitter and Instagram. Airlines are also a great source of information on social media. Many airlines provide constant updates including system outages and travel deals on their social media, as well as a means for customer service at your fingertips. You can follow all four of the airlines that serve FWA on social media by their airline names.

Get Techie in the Terminal

Every passenger, or visitor, that travels through FWA, has access to FREE Wi-Fi within all areas of the terminal. Simply choose “Fort Wayne Airport” in your wireless settings and the portal page will open automatically. Accept the “Terms and Conditions” and complete an optional survey before checking emails and browsing the web. This complimentary service is good for two hours, after which you will be asked to renew the connection. Other features in the FWA terminal include electronic charging stations and worktables. These will keep your phone, tablet and laptop going while you wait for your flight to depart.

The next time you take to the skies, look to your device first! It just may make your time at FWA, and wherever your travels may take you, less turbulent. Thank you for choosing FWA!
