Dan Copeland was born in 1955 and spent the first 19 years of his life in Jackson, Michigan. He graduated from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1984. In 1987, Dan moved to Fort Wayne, Ind., to start Business People. For the past 25 years, Dan has led the company. Dan has two daughters, one who is active in the business and the other is still in college. He is involved in the local community through various non-profit agencies. He enjoys golf, snow skiing and travel.

Lynette began her career at Business People in April of 2010, only four months after graduating from Huntington University with degrees in Journalism, Public Relations and Communication Studies. Because of her belief in giving back, Lynette is a volunteer for Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana, a Rotarian with that Anthony Wayne Rotary Club and a sponsor for the Crossbridge Community Church youth group. Though still relative newcomers to Fort Wayne, Lynette and her husband, Josh, readily call the city their home. When she’s not fixing verb tenses and consulting the AP Stylebook, Lynette spends her time drinking coffee, reading, watching “Big Bang Theory” and tossing a Frisbee with Josh.

Deb began her sales career when she was barely out of her teens, selling for a food distributor, a communications company and for a TV commercial/video production company, before she finally landed at Business People magazine. In July 2011, she will be celebrating her 11th year anniversary as an Account Executive for Business People. For Deb, this job has been the most rewarding by far. Each day, she has the pleasure of meeting with companies to discover how and why they started their business, and how she can help them continue to grow. Deb is an ambassador for the Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce and currently sits on several non-profit marketing committees. She organized and launched a women's networking group (3W3) in 2005. In her spare time, she is a regular movie-watcher, book-reader, bicycler, walker, gardener, photographer and scrapbook artist. She enjoys traveling with her husband and spending time with family and friends.

Teresa Harmeyer joined the staff of Michiana Business Publications in August of 1994 and worked here through April 2001. In March 2003, she came back home to work for Business People. Born and raised in Fort Wayne, she has had a variety of sales positions throughout her career. She always has been involved in the civic sector of our community. Currently, she is an ambassador for the Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce, as well as a volunteer on several committees, a founding committee member for Rock n Doc's Music Fest, committee member for Easter Seals ARC, a mentor for the Women's Bureau Women Enterprise program and Board President and certified teacher for Right Relations Inc. She enjoys working for Michiana Business Publications because she has the opportunity to help clients grow their businesses. She has gained many friendships and enjoys meeting so many wonderful people.

Emily is the latest addition to the Business People staff joining in September 2010. She graduated from International Business College in early 2005 with a degree in Graphic Design. Emily has been designing magazines and other print media for six years. Her new career with Business People gives her a new opportunity to showcase her skills in different styles with each publication produced. She grew up near Chicago and moved to Fort Wayne in search of a smaller “big city.” In her free time she enjoys spending time with her fiancé, Raul, and her family.

Emily starting working for Business People in 2004 as ad coordinator. After gaining experience and learning about all aspects of the company, she took over the office manager position in October 2009. She has a degree in marketing from IPFW and strives to bring a fresh perspective to Business People. Emily enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling and has a passion for magazines. She feels privileged to work with the Business People team and blessed for the opportunities she has been given.

Vanessa Knight, account executive

Vanessa Knight became part of the Michiana Business Publications staff in April of 2010 and brings more than 11 years of experience along with her. Prior to her time at Business People, Vanessa worked at Macy's as a manager in the Cosmetics Department. In her spare time, Vanessa volunteers for Habitat for Humanity and is a freelance Sales & Marketing Consultant. Her favorite thing to do is play with her 3-year-old daughter, Jiana.

Lynn began her sales career at Centrex Clinical Laboratories in New Hartford, NY in 1987. She worked as an account representative serving area physicians until 1993. She followed her husbands career in the United States Air Force moving from New York to Ohio to Alabama to Washington D.C. and finally settling in Fort Wayne. Lynn was an active volunteer in the Air Force Community while raising four children. In 2010, Lynn resumed her career as an account representative for Northern Indiana Lakes Magazine. In January 2011, Lynn joined Business People magazine. As a relatively new member of the Fort Wayne community, Lynn enjoys meeting the many exciting people in the Fort Wayne businesses. Her job is very rewarding as she helps businesses with advertising for potential customers.
